Earlier this week, CORMAC was awarded a 5-year contract for Enterprise Database Administration (DBA) Support at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Under this contract, CORMAC will provide DBA Support for DB2 databases across the agency. The contract supports the Office of Information Technology (OIT), which is charged with the management of information systems architecture, assets (hardware, software and resources), enterprise databases, and the access to data and operational systems. The current CMS DB2 database environment contains diverse sets of Medicare and Medicaid data for analytical and operational purposes, including but not limited to, utilization, beneficiary enrollment, beneficiary eligibility, provider profiles and provider credentials. The current DB2 environment includes 1150 databases comprised of more than 65,000 tables with a total size of 225 Terabytes.
This is the latest stage in a long partnership between CMS and CORMAC which was established back in 2002. Over the last 17 years, CORMAC has evolved to become recognized as a leading data management company in the CMS space. In executing this contract, CORMAC will draw on its deep understanding of CMS data and the extensive data management skills developed from the operation of data centric contracts such as IDR, NMUD, and NCH. CORMAC is honored to have once again been entrusted with the opportunity to provide solutions to enable the agency to fulfill its mission of serving healthcare beneficiaries and providers.
